About the press

St Brigid Press is a letterpress print shop founded in 2012 by Emily Hancock in the Blue Ridge Mountains of central Virginia. It uses hand-set type, hand-carved illustrations, foot-powered presses, and hand-sewn bindings to produce books, journals, and prints. Hancock studied letterpress at Penland School of Crafts and with master printers.
